A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
Big Canyon sits tucked along the Weber River canyon in Summit County. The drive in is beautiful — here are a few notes to make your arrival smooth.
Use I-80 East, Exit 155
Whether coming from Salt Lake City or Park City, I-80 is your main route. Take Exit 155 toward Wanship / Echo — it's a well-marked exit with easy access.
GPS Works, but Verify the Final Turn
Most GPS systems will navigate you correctly. If you're unsure, look for Big Canyon Lane off SR-189 just south of Wanship. Call us if you get turned around.
Cell Service May Be Limited
Reception can be spotty on canyon roads. We recommend downloading an offline map or writing down the address before you leave, especially if traveling at night.
WINTER ROAD CONDITIONS
Utah canyon roads can be icy in winter. 4 wheel or AWD recommended from November through March. Check UDOT road conditions before heading out.
When You Arrive
Parking & Check-In
PARKING
Ample on-site parking is available for guests, day visitors, and event groups. Follow the signage from Big Canyon Lane to the designated parking areas.
Check-In & Arrival
Upon arrival, proceed to the main lodge to check in with staff. If you're arriving for a group retreat or event, a coordinator will be on-site to welcome your group.
Please note: Big Canyon has a gated entrance. The gate opens 5 minutes prior to your group's contracted arrival time — typically 4:00 pm. Please do not arrive early, as you will be required to wait at the gate.
